- OSB boards must be protected against water action
- OSB boards installed outside must be protected against weather conditions
- the long humidity action on OSB3 board can cause a negligible swelling of the rims, up to 15 % in accordance with an OSB3 standard and up to 12% with an OSB4 board; in this case, the rims regrinding may be necessary before the final finishing
- the board used on roof or floor must be fastened with the identification overprint down
- if the OSB board is lain on bands longer than 12 m, an expansion gap (about 25 mm) should be left
- for better resistance to weather, cut or milled board rims can be protected with an impregnant.
